Roberto "Superman" Gomez

JFlowers Ambassador | Global Pool Icon

With a cue in hand and a Superman emblem on his chest, Roberto Gomez has soared to the top of the professional pool world—earning the admiration of fans and legends alike. Hailing from Zamboanga City, Philippines, Gomez is not just a champion on the table but also a proud JFlowers ambassador, embodying excellence, flair, and resilience.

Gomez’s love for the game began early, picking up a cue at just 9 years old. While nurturing his passion for pool, he also pursued his education, graduating from Western Mindanao State University with a degree in Mass Communication and an associate’s in Criminology. Before turning pro, he even worked as a regional reporter for ABS-CBN, one of the Philippines’ top news networks.

His breakthrough moment came in 2007, when he stunned the world by reaching the finals of the World Nine-ball Championship—making history as the first-ever qualifier to reach the title match. With that electrifying debut, a new star was born.

Nicknamed "Superman" by none other than his idol, Efren “Bata” Reyes, Gomez earned the moniker for his signature shirts and superhero-like presence on the table. The name stuck—and it perfectly captured his larger-than-life energy and heart.

Since then, Gomez has amassed major titles across multiple formats. In 2018, he won the Derby City Classic Bigfoot 10-Ball Challenge, edging out rising star Fedor Gorst in a gripping hill-hill battle.

In the One Pocket scene, Gomez has become a dominant force, winning the 2021 International Open One Pocket and securing a record-breaking $152,000 payout at the 2024 Buffalo Pro Classic—the largest ever for the discipline.

Whether thrilling fans with impossible shots or lighting up the arena with his trademark charisma, Roberto “Superman” Gomez is a true entertainer—and a shining symbol of the world-class performance and passion behind every JFlowers cue.
